The American Lake Veterans Golf Course wanted to expand their golf therapy program to support even more veterans with limited mobility. Adding two SoloRider golf carts was just what they needed.

The American Lake Veterans Golf Course is on the grounds of the VA Hospital in Lakewood, Washington, one hour south of Seattle. There they provide a rehabilitative golf program for disabled veterans and golf services to active duty military, reserves, National Guard, veterans and their dependents. This past year alone, there has been over 30,000 rounds of golf played.
Thousands of U.S. service men and women have returned from active duty with severe physical and psychological wounds. That’s where the therapy, socialization and support programs offered by the American Lake Veterans Golf Course step in to make a real difference. The golf course receives no government or public funding. Rather it relies on minimal golf fees and private financial support while being managed, operated and maintained 100% by the over 230+ volunteers who are committed to supporting those who have given so much for our country.
For the physically disabled, participating in golf therapy requires some special assistance. That’s where SoloRider golf carts can help. They are uniquely designed to keep players with a diverse range of challenges and disabilities in the game of golf. The first SoloRider brought to American Lakes was an immediate success. Seeing how beneficial the SoloRider was, American Lakes set out to acquire additional carts to serve even more veterans. At JTMF Foundation, we were excited to be able to cover the cost of two new SoloRiders.
