YMCA Child Development Center Gym Roof Repair - Klamath Falls
The Young Men's Christian Association (YMCA) of Klamath County is located in Klamath Falls, Oregon. With a population of just over 21,000 and situated in the high desert of South-Central region of Oregon, the community is diverse in socioeconomic status, race, and ethnicity. The YMCA members and program participants span all ages from the Infant/Toddler Child Care program to the active senior population. Their facilities and programs are a central part of the lives of many in this community.
The YMCA of Klamath Falls was organized in 1947 but relocated to the current location in 1969. Since that time, they expanded to two branches. The Child Care branch provides Infant/Toddler, Pre-School Promise, Pre-School, along with an After-School program for students in kindergarten through sixth grade. In addition, the YMCA provides care during "non-school days." All the childcare programming is based in the 100-year-old building, a former school district elementary school.
As the building aged, it was clear the YMCA would need to repair/replace deficiencies on the gym roof at the Child Care Center to continue to operate. The project has increased the life of the building and maintained a safe and reliable area, allowing the YMCA to continue with their goals of providing the best for children's development and wellbeing for years to come.
