Voices Unlimited General Operating Support - Portland Metro Area

Voices Unlimited is a choir serving adults of all ages with autism and other developmental disabilities. Founded in October 2011, by Carol Stady and Benjamin Landsverk, with the mission of providing an excellent choral and acting experience for adults with special needs while also offering opportunities to socialize and develop friendships in a safe, positive setting. They rehearse weekly and offer inspiring performances for the community at large. Productions performed in the past include The Little Mermaid, Mary Poppins, Beauty and the Beast and Fiddler on the Roof.

Due to COVID, the last two years have been challenging for Voices Unlimited. They purchased the performance rights for The Lion King Jr. in January of 2020. They held auditions and cast roles in early February, just before the pandemic made in person rehearsals impossible. With great resilience, Voices Unlimited began rehearsing over Zoom, even holding virtual Halloween and holiday caroling parties! These rehearsals put a song in their hearts. Joy and love kept them going.

The JTMF Foundation is honored to support Voices Unlimited and help these special individuals develop skills and confidence, promote friendships, and enrich their lives through music.
